Turning a dream into reality - That’s what we did! After just one visit to Ecuador we knew this was the place. We left behind our corporate jobs in Canada to pursue our long time vision for a different lifestyle. We are a very active couple - we love the outdoors, running, biking, swimming, yoga and entertaining - the location and vibe had to allow for all this and more.

Our goal was to build a unique vacation destination and share the amazing coastal area of San Clemente, Ecuador with others. Here we fell in love with the people, the culture, the pristine beaches, the wide array of local cuisine and the many adventures to discover. Andrew even proposed to Carol on the beach in front of the property.

Our vision is simple - Escape the everyday! Explore new places! Experience the unexpected! Whether you are looking for the spice of life, want to go off the grid and relax or combine the best of both worlds, we want to help you do it.

about the property

Casa de Terrazas is your home base for exploring the diverse and exciting Sun Coast of Ecuador. The house was built by an architect from Quito as the family home...a unique and custom space with 6 separate balcony and terrace areas with ocean views. You can see clear down to Punta Charapoto a prominent cliff that drops dramatically to the beach. All this outdoor space provides the perfect gathering places for groups and events or privacy for couples.

A beautiful design, the house still required extensive renovations to create the oasis we had envisioned for our guests. To deliver on the vision no detail was overlooked in the renovations. The building and property were re-imagined to create an inviting oasis with a lush combination of vegetation, water features and private spaces. Casa de Terrazas offers a warm and inviting home away from home.

LAGOON POOL
The pool with its smooth curves, varied depths and dramatic waterfall is the perfect spot to cool off. Surrounded by lush vegetation a dramatic mural and various spots to sit, recline and relax - it is truly an oasis.

LUXURIOUS DAYBED
A large covered cabana by the pool, two separate, reclining thick cushioned beds… white drapes provide some privacy while gazing out over the lagoon pool and waterfall.

DECK CHAIRS & HAMMOCKS
You will find our brightly coloured wooden deck chairs at various locations around the property. Just want to hang out, read a book or take a nap? Try the hammocks on the guest level terrace.

UPPER TERRACE AND LOUNGE
On the upper terrace you will find more than just a magnificent view, here is the covered palapa with a couch and chairs to unwind with a drink, have a conversation or just take in the view.

OUTDOOR SHOWER
Located at the back of the zen garden you will find the common use outdoor shower, to wash off after a day at the beach or before a plunge in the pool.

When you stay with us you are not on your own! We can help arrange as much as you would like - everything from airport transportation, adventure activities, recommend places to eat, daily transportation, setting you up for a day on the beach - whatever you need, just ask, we will help make it happen.
